JUST AN AFTER THOUGHT

Soooooo.....i suddenly had this thought and i HAD to post it here. Its a short lil thing.Well, like many other people...i love fashion and I'm happy big chain stores like Zara and Forever 21 have opened in India,it gives us fashion fiends somewhere to replenish our fashionable desires and suck out our cash moolah but now its kind of like India is another notch crossed out on the wall.Globalization, consumerism(yes I'm a supporter regretfully in spades i might add) just has a cloning kind of effect. The world has become smaller and in the process we've all started dressing alike.Sure there are those precious few who thrive on individuality and all but in the bigger picture we are all just influences of what we look up to.So what is actually being an "original"these days? With the access we have through mass media, the internet...even music...is there actually originality left on this planet or have we all become reflections of ourselves???

That's a very perceptive observation. What I don't like about globalization vis a vis fashion is the pressure that you are made to feel to look and dress like everyone else from the west. And when you apply that to our rough and dusty terrain, our socio-economic set ups, and the steep paths we climb up amidst the blazing sun, what we get is a sad ensemble of clownish people who look extremely fashionable, but completely out of place!
