FASHION-McQUEEN-ME

I think the very first time I viewed Alexander McQueen's fashion shows was when I was in my Xth standard of high school. It was on a channel called Trendz which back then showed nothing but runway shows.I was not very familiar with the fashion industry, the only link I had with fashion was through the music I was listening to,I had no idea what Chanel stood for or what in God's name a Birkin was.Music was about it really, what Britney Spears or Jennifer Lopez wore was more important to me than what any fashion show/editorial ever did.Granted television and teen magazines were the only form of media through which I connected with the world(Vogue was for me just a Madonna song and internet and computers were out of reach for my family) and then I stumbled upon McQueen's show one lazy afternoon.I was transfixed with his shows. They both repelled me and fascinated me.This show in particular puzzled me alot.I understood that he was trying to show how beauty could be seen even in the most ugliest of things but intellectualizing fashion shows when I was 16 was not a top priority.McQueen's shows slowly guided into the world of fashion to be quiet honest.I was enamoured, obsessed and could not get enough of everything fashion after that. Its led me to the place I am right now..an avid admirer of fashion.McQueen's show instilled in my head that fashion was not just trends of the moment but so much more.It was art..life...imagination and culture patched together in a single piece of garment. For this reason I always hold McQueen in the highest of esteems and it makes me so sad that we will never view the same vision of his shows again.

The Romance of a McQueen Show

These are two of the many moments in an Alexander McQueen show which showcase the man's vision.Always ahead of the curve and a showman who could evoke emotions out of clothes.Apart from the clothes themselves McQueen took a fashion show to a whole new level that it may have competed with artists of the romantic era.Its what made me fall in love with his collections over and over again.

R.I.P ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

Its a sad time for the fashion industry as it looses one of its most talented designers.mr.Lee Alexander McQueen commited suicide and well its been a loss thats hard to just fathomly imagine. For me personally speaking, its still a shock.McQueen was one of the reasons i loved fashon. His shows were spectacles to behold. You just knew it was a McQueen coz his signature elements of the gothic theme, the romance in the clothes, that it factor which many tried to reproduce but mostly failed at doing...this was what made him so great.I was instantly a fan after seeing his collection on one of the fashion tv shows.I was mesmerised and in awe of the fact that there was such a human being who was this talented and had just a great impact on contemporary fashion. The fashion world is harsh and so fast moving that sometimes i can't keep up but seeing an Alexander McQueen show was sometimes enough for me.I also have to mention the fact that my obsession with skull print everything began with his most famous scarf. It still is but a far off dream that oneday i would own a piece of his work. Its a heartbreaking time for his fans as well as he was an irreplaceable part of fashion as it is.Mr.McQueen,i hope that you found the peace you longed for andthat you may not know me,you had a great impact on how i see the world.

Alexander McQueen Dress I loooooove

Drew Barrymore wore it tosome event for Whip it! which i want to see btw but neways the dress is superbly McQueen...classic but with a gothic feel.I quiet like the way Drew wears it...gives it more personality with the hair(not for the faint hearted).
