Lanvin Resort 2012 (THIS ONE"S FOR THE KIDS)

I thought this was very cute.Who knew Lanvin could look really good on children as it does on adults. The power of Alber Elbaz I guess!!And I've also added that hilarious Lanvin ad.Awkward models dancings makes me feel better about my own clumsy two left feet!!

FASHION-McQUEEN-ME

I think the very first time I viewed Alexander McQueen's fashion shows was when I was in my Xth standard of high school. It was on a channel called Trendz which back then showed nothing but runway shows.I was not very familiar with the fashion industry, the only link I had with fashion was through the music I was listening to,I had no idea what Chanel stood for or what in God's name a Birkin was.Music was about it really, what Britney Spears or Jennifer Lopez wore was more important to me than what any fashion show/editorial ever did.Granted television and teen magazines were the only form of media through which I connected with the world(Vogue was for me just a Madonna song and internet and computers were out of reach for my family) and then I stumbled upon McQueen's show one lazy afternoon.I was transfixed with his shows. They both repelled me and fascinated me.This show in particular puzzled me alot.I understood that he was trying to show how beauty could be seen even in the most ugliest of things but intellectualizing fashion shows when I was 16 was not a top priority.McQueen's shows slowly guided into the world of fashion to be quiet honest.I was enamoured, obsessed and could not get enough of everything fashion after that. Its led me to the place I am right now..an avid admirer of fashion.McQueen's show instilled in my head that fashion was not just trends of the moment but so much more.It was art..life...imagination and culture patched together in a single piece of garment. For this reason I always hold McQueen in the highest of esteems and it makes me so sad that we will never view the same vision of his shows again.

Landslide

I love this cover of Fleetwood Mac's landslide.I sometimes resent how popular Glee gets because they just dwindle the storyline to stuff in popular hits on the charts. Its not a bad thing really because i do enjoy their covers but i just get frustrated with the fickle story lines.Okay coming back to Landslide...i just love the heart in their rendition.Gwyneth Paltrow sounds fragile here..in a good way.I seriously sobbed throughout watching this particular song sequence. And the lyrics,oh the lyrics are such a reflection of all the things i want to say.to life,to the people i meet,to time.........Enough babble.Listen!!!

I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my lifeWell, I've been afraid of changin'
Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
And I'm getting older tooSo.. take this love and take it down
Yeah, and if you climb a mountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide brought it down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well maybe... The landslide'll bring you down

PICTURE ME

I think this will be quiet an interesting documentary.I remember Sara Ziff when she was really the "it"model back in the day.Who knew she could also be such a great documentary film-maker.Models have always fascinated me to the hilt. After seeing this trailer,I've become more curious and my empathy, admiration and disgust has just increased for models and the fashion industry.Hopefully this film will reach me in some way and i will then feel kind of sad that i held this fantasy world with such high regard....for awhile at least.

Lunasa

I'm loving Karen Elson's debut album so much.Who knew such a fantastic ginger model could also evoke such lovely melodies and poetic/melancholic lyrics.I particularly favour Lunasa...
